I did not plan my research. At some point, I simply started following it.

A pragmatic beginning

Diving led me to learning, the literature led me to technology acceptance, and finally to UTAUT2. My academic training began with my degree theses.

The next step

For my master thesis, I transferred the approach to e-learning in vocational IT education.

The finding that stayed

An exploratory analysis pointed to a possible gap between perceived understanding and readiness to apply. My research programme began with an observation I could not explain.

Where I stand today

First understand qualitatively what people experience in such situations. Then develop constructs and test them quantitatively.

Diving

With DiveWithSteini I run my own dive school. It deliberately stays in the background on this website, but it is part of who I am and how I think about preparation, responsibility and acting safely.
