Profile

Between technology, teaching and research.

I combine professional IT practice, teaching and empirical research. This page summarises the foundation this combination rests on.

Sven Steinhardt

Sven Steinhardt, M.Sc., MBA

My professional work is in network engineering, where I also hold responsibility for vocational training. Alongside this, I teach in advanced vocational education and in higher education, and serve as an examiner and reviewer.

My research connects digital IT education, technology acceptance, learning transfer and cognitive load with the question of how technical knowledge becomes applicable under realistic conditions.

Academic background

A path that runs through practice.

B.Sc. Business and Technology

First empirical work on the acceptance of digital theory instruction — the starting point for everything that followed.

MBA, focus on Digital Transformation

Study on the acceptance of hybrid learning models and virtual labs in vocational IT education.

M.Sc. Leadership & Management

Master thesis on the acceptance of e-learning systems in vocational IT education.

DBA Candidate, PPA Business School Paris

Continued work on how digital learning systems can support robust capability to act in high-stakes learning and working contexts — beyond acceptance alone.

Methodological profile

What I actually work with.

The method follows the question. That is why I work both quantitatively and qualitatively — and state openly where the limits of each approach lie.

Quantitative

  • Survey design and construct operationalisation
  • Scale development and measurement-model assessment
  • PLS-SEM and exploratory structural analysis
  • Sensitivity and multiverse analyses for robustness testing
  • Transparent reporting of analytical decisions

Qualitative

  • Semi-structured interviews
  • Retrospective critical-incident narratives
  • Reflexive thematic analysis
  • Systematic anonymisation
  • Ethics, consent and data-protection documentation
Working principle

I never claim more than the data supports.

  • Methodological limits are named, not concealed
  • Self-reports are not presented as performance evidence
  • Exploratory findings stay exploratory until they are tested
